In this design challenge, learners will practice empathy and design thinking skills by creating a play space that is fun, both for themselves and other kids. Learners will practice user-centered design by considering the needs of a user persona and themselves while they create a concept sketch of a play space they can use together with their new "friend." Activity includes a design thinking framework that will walk learners through the playground design process step-by-step, a sample concept sketch, user persona cards of fictional people and their needs, and suggested activity extensions.
