In this activity, learners test different food items by timing how long it takes each liquid to slide from the top of a ramp to the bottom. Learners will make predictions and record results while exploring the concepts of viscosity and gravity using melted chocolate or other tasty treats. Activity includes step-by-step instructions, a demonstration video, background info about the science behind the activity, suggested questions for caregivers to ask learners, and suggested activity extensions.
