In this activity, learners explore the structural strength of triangles by creating their own free-standing geodesic dome out of plastic straws. Learners will be able to connect their creation to similar forces within self-supporting buildings. Includes step-by-step instructions with pictures and a video, suggested reflection questions, suggested activity extensions, an explanation of the science behind the activity.
