In this physics activity (page nine of the pdf), learners use balloons to explore how a rocket works. It is suggested they also work to see how they can alter the velocity of the rocket. Designed as a pre- or post-visit activity in connection to a trip to COSI Science Center in Central Ohio, this activity is also great as a stand alone exploration or a more general introduction to Newton's Laws.
