In this online activity, learners measure their pulse rates and investigate how their pulses change when they engage in different activities. Learners record their pulse rates at rest, after moderate exercise and after vigorous exercise. The activity encourages learners to participate in the other Kinetic City Science Gym activities and then return to this activity to see how their pulse rates have changed, if at all. When learners set up a free account at Kinetic City, they can answer bonus questions at the end of the activity as a quick assessment. They can also keep track of their progress in all of the Kinetic City activities, and compare their progress to other participants worldwide.
