In this activity, learners will experiment with water- and air-filled balloons as a way of dampening sound before it reaches their ears. Protecting your ears from excessively loud noise is important to preventing hearing loss. This activity uses low cost materials and can be done at home. Activity includes step-by-step instructions and a "What's Going On?" section that explains the science. This activity pairs well with Decibel Air Cannon.
