Some of our readers may remember that back in December, this blog had a flurry of posts on toads and frogs. One of them, 7 habits of highly effective toads, touched on the Cane Toad’s invasion of Australia.
Well now there’s a film on just that subject. It might be a fun first step in getting learners to think about amphibians and invasive species.
According to the film’s web site, "Cane Toads: The Conquest" is “a comic yet provocative account of Australia’s most notorious environmental blunder. The cast includes the scientists, community groups, politicians and locals who have crossed paths with the toad on its inexorable march across the country.” Check out a few of the locals featured in the film.
